The effects of ecotourism on coral reefs around the world are a major conservation concern. This website explores the current threats to coral reefs and investigates the ways in which they are being approached.
The website has been constructed by Elisha Peers, a third year undergraduate BSc Biology student from Edge Hill University in Lancashire, England. The interest in coral reefs came from a snorkelling trip to the Maldives earlier this year. After having explored the natural beauty and diverse marine life of the atoll reefs in the Indotropics; their value and need to conserve them became a research topic of interest.
The website aims to raise awareness of the problem and also provides a reliable source of information to those who are interested in ecology and conservation, particularly in the Tropics. The research is ongoing and therefore any input and/ or comments you have are welcomed. Please visit our contact us page to get in touch.
